INTRODUCTION
Nearly all people do mention this name of God many times over when they speak. They think about him occasionally in their meditations. The same all do accept that this God is mighty and exceedingly powerful. But with this admission, these same people behave in a manner which disapproves their claim of knowing him.
Why do I say this?
The Muslims teach that this God is one. The Christians on the other hand teach that this same God is a three in one God (Trinity). Indians teach that he is embodied in cows, in women, others in African nations think that the mighty God finds his dwelling in tall trees or on the peak of mountains.
All these versions claim their origin from that same one God. Now imagine and think if you can please. One God revealing Himself in so many different versions; teaching differing knowledge about Himself; causing people to disagree?
Since he can’t do that, then my talk of people claiming to know Him while denying the claim in their behaviors is very true. They don’t talk of God according to what He said about himself through the prophets and the apostles.
For this reasons; they profess to know God, but they deny him by their deeds – Titus 1:16” …. Teaching as doctrines, the precepts of men – Mark 7:7”. But with all this confusion, this mighty God has not left himself without a testimony. So what does he say about himself?
Is he a one person, three in one? Is he embodied in cows, women or stone shrines? Does he live in the mountains, tall trees or in beautiful temples? What answers does He himself give concerning all these questions?
Lets open-mindedly listen to what answers He will give us.
GOD IS THE CREATOR
Have you ever been bewildered by the endless atmosphere and the sky above you, with all the stars and other bodies in it? Have you ever gone outside your house at night during a clear – sky – night?
I request you to do so if you’ve never done it please. See endless clouds of different types appearing and disappearing. Try to go out on a clear night and behold the countless twinkling stars each in its position.
They are arranged so uniquely that they can’t collide. Hear and feel the refreshing wind blowing every now and then. Here on earth, see the green beauty of plants, attractive mountains, valleys, oceans and rivers running down ways, causing not a little admiration to our hearts.
We have different types of animals, birds, insects and other microscopic organs. Where did all these things come from? Who feeds and manages them? Listen to what God told the prophets about them. Lift up your eyes on high and see; who created these?” He who brings their host by number, calling them all by name; by the greatness of His might, and because he is strong in power, not one is missing” – Isa. 40:26. Yes, who is this, who is talking here; who is behind all these work? God continues to say: “hearken to me o Jacob and Israel whom I called;..Isa. 48:12.
Remember, the names Jacob or Israel (Over comer with God) represents all people unto whom God had revealed this secret of life, for Christ tells us, “peace and mercy be upon all who walk by this rule, upon the Israel of God – Gal. 6:16. “Read also – Rom. 2:28 – 29; Isa. 56:3 – 6.
With this knowledge, let’s go back to our verse in Isaiah. 48:12 and continue to hear God speak. “… I am He, I am the first and I am the last. My hand laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand spread the heavens; when I call them they stand out together – V. 12 – 13”.
Testifying concerning this same God, prophet Ezra: “Thou art the Lord, thou alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth and all that is in them; and thou preserve all of them; and the host of heaven worships you. Neh 9:6”.
The bottom line is, “This God we are telling you about here is the creator of all things, you included. He is the life giver and the sustainer of the same all, for he says: “By the word of the Lord were the heavens created and all their host by the breath of his mouth…………, for He spoke, and it came to pass; He commanded and it stood forth – Ps 33:6 – 9”.
So, since this God speaking through the prophets is the creator, then he must be the only one who knows the truth about all things. He alone knows the truth about Himself and the nature of all life. Do you believe that? If yes, why are you following teachings of men instead of that God’s word?
GOD’S GREATNESS
We say that we believe this God and believe what He says to be true (John 17:17). But when problems come, be it sickness, mistreatment by fellow men, needy circumstances and many others, we don’t ask that God for help; instead we go to our fellowmen; we depend on money and plan according to our own thoughts. Actions like this deny our faith in that God and prove to us to be ignorant of Him. We prove to be the people Christ speak about saying; “This people honor me with their lips, but their heart is far from me – Mark 7:6”.
Yes, this action proves that we don’t know this great God who is able to help in everything. Why do we say that? Let’s try to see His greatness and ability, and then let everyone examine him/herself and you will agree with me. Think of how big the earth is; we don’t even see its end. See the endless universe and all that is in it. About them God says; “who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand and marked the heavens with a span, enclosed the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales and the hills in a balance? – Isa. 40:12 –
Just think if you can please. For even thou we come to know God, our lack of dependence on him disapproves our claim and shows us to take him to be one like us; one who is only bragging but has no power to help.
This is why we abandon His instructions and follow our thoughts. Yet, He has a balance that can weigh a mountain. If you want to believe Him, you must accept that He is this powerful, for He says, “Behold the nations are like a drop from a bucket…Isa. 40:15”.
If you put a drop of water in a bucket, you can’t see it. Now, consider that and look at yourself. You live the whole day, scared of men, sicknesses, hunger, war, earthquakes and the like, things which God command and they obey; and after that you say, you depend on Him!
How can you depend on Him and fear the things he created and controls? God Himself is asking you; ‘I, I am He that comforts you; who are you that you are afraid of man that dies, of the son of man that is made like grass, and have forgotten the Lord your maker, who stretched out the heavens and laid the foundations of the earth, and fear continually all the day because of the fury of the oppressor? – Isa. 51:12 – 13”.
Tell me please; do we really know and believe this God we are relating with. How can we believe and continue to live in sorrow and fear?
THE POWER OF GOD
Many times, our thoughts are in the physical life and its necessities. We need clothing, shelter, food, protection, knowledge and comfort. Even thou we claim to know God, we don’t depend on him much in our endeavors to achieve these things. Rather, we depend on people and material wealth to an extend of rejecting God’s instructions, if doing so will leave us getting these things.
If I may wonder; when we do this, do we really know His possessive power? He is asking us “to whom then will you liken God, or what likeness do you compare with Him? – Isaiah 40:18” “I made the earth and created man upon it; it was my hands that stretched out the heavens, and I commanded all their hosts – Isaiah 45:12 “The sea looked and fled, Jordan turned back. The mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs. …. Tremble o earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob, who turns the rock into a pool of water, the flint, into a spring of water – Ps 144:3 – 5, 7 – 8”.
Do you see how He proves to be the creator and also to have power over His creation? Pharaoh who depended on the abundance of wealth and the greatness of his army, bragged and asked Moses who that God is, whom he should heed to and let the Israelites free (Ex 5:2).
God wishing to show His greatness didn’t answer in words but in deeds. He began to order His creation, because “… all things are His servants – Ps 119:91”. “He send darkness, and all Egypt got dark; He commanded the waters and they turned into blood; He ordered frogs, flies, lice and all Egypt was packed with them. He commanded, and storms of rain fell upon the land, destroying all the crops. He killed all the first born of the Egyptians – see Ps 105:27 – 38”. Pharaoh, the most powerful king on earth in his days acknowledges God and the greatness of His power. He bowed before the creator God and let the Israelites go.
Now you, who claim to know and believe in this exceedingly powerful God, and yet continue to sorrow and fear, do you really know Him? Do you really believe and depend on Him? If yes, what is this you are afraid of, which is impossible to Him? The truth is, if you sorrow and fear, you as yet don’t know. Neither believe in Him. Read – 1John 4:18; Ps 23:4. Or might you be saying, “Even though He is this powerful the creation is so broad that He can’t see everything”. Do you know His mind?
THE WISDOM OF GOD
The wisdom of God is one of non-example. Just think about it please. He controls the stars, moon, sun, wind, rain and he has never forgotten one day, so that they fail to show up or they collide. He causes the grass and many types of plants to grow. He feeds men, animals, birds, fishes and innumerable insects and, He never forgets any of them. – Ps. 104:3 – 35.
Can you try to figure out the kind of mind involved here and the planning genius – the wisdom? Can we really grasp? Is this the God you know and trust in? Compare yourself with king David who knew and trusted this God, who had this to say. “I love thee or Lord my strength”.
The Lord is my rock and my fortress, and my deliverer, my God and my rock in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation – my stronghold – Ps 18:1-2”. Yes, with a clear knowledge of this great creator God, David continued to say; “Even thou I walk through the shadow of the valley of death, I fear no evil; for thou art with me; thy rod and they staff, they comfort me – Ps 23:4”.
I know some of us may wonder for lack of clear knowledge and ask; ‘where will the problems go if God is with us? Being the creator, He has power over all things; even the devil can’t withstand Him. This is why David asked; ‘… whom shall I fear – Ps 27:1?” and again;” … if God is for us, who can be against us? – Rom 8:31? “Listen to what He inspired Paul to answer? No one can “… neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come … nor anything else in all creation … Rom 8” 38 – 39”.
Why? Because His mind is so expansive such that nothing can escape His notice, and besides that, being the creator, everything is under His control. This is the God we are proclaiming to you in this booklet. This is the kind of wisdom He posses, great understanding, knowing all things. Will you believe Him and accept what He says about whom and what He is? Choose.
SEMBLANCE (IMAGE) OF GOD
If we have followed and accepted what God has taught us to this point, then by now, he must have began to take the first place in our minds, desires and even our plans. If we have began to see his greatness and power, then all the teaching of man must begin to loose their meaning in our lives, even if they come from rulers, the wise, or the religious leaders of this world.
This is because, those who believe in this God know him to the extent that, when he speaks, they tremble, for it is written; “Hear the word of the Lord, you who tremble at his word… Isa. 66:5” and again; “all these things, my hand has made and so, all these things are mine, says the Lord; but this is the man to whom I will look, … who trembles at my word – Isaiah 66:2”.
If you are one of them, from this point read with carefulness, referring to every scripture given, because we have come to the point where almost all men have rejected God’s word, and have introduced their own, each according to what they want.
But God is warning us “to the teaching and to the testimony! Surely for this word, which they speak, there is no dawn (its darkness – no knowledge) – Isaiah 8:20”. He continues to warn; “see to it that no one makes a prey of you by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to elemental spirits of the universe, and according to Christ – Col. 2:8.
So now being in that state of alert, lets ask ourselves; what does God say about His image, His semblance? Does he say, he is like a cow, or a woman, or a stone shrine build by men, before which they worship?
Listen to Him please; “……… learn not the way of the nations (peoples) nor be dismayed at the signs of the heavens like them. For the customs of the peoples are false … Jer. 10:2 – 3”
The nations are a people who do not know God, who erect idols – read Eph 4:17 – 19 please. So now, will you liken God with an idol? God forbid; for he says; “The idol; a workman casts it; and a goldsmith overlays it with gold … Isaiah 40:19 – 20”.
If God truly created these things how can he resemble them? How can He be equated with them? “Being then God’s off spring, then we ought not to think that God is like Gold, or silver, or stone, a representation by the art and imagination of men – Act 17:29”. So every idol before which men bow down is worship, or as a means of worshipping God, whether a cross, image of Christ, Mary or anything is an abomination, for our Lord, says “you shall not make for yourself any graven image, whether in heaven above or in the earth beneath, or in the waters under the earth; you shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am ………………… Ex. 20:4 – 5.
Why does God forbid this? Because He doesn’t resemble – look like them, for He says, “You saw no form on the day that the Lord spoke to you at Horeb out of the midst of fire; beware lest you act corruptly by making graven images for yourselves, in the form of any figure, the likeness of male or female, the likeness of any beast on the earth, any winged bird in the air, anything that creeps upon the earth, any fish in the sea.
And beware lest you lift up your eyes to heaven, and when you see the sun, moon, and stars, you be drawn away to worship and serve them … Duet. 4:15 – 19:23”. Yes, no one has ever seen God and so, there is no truth in imagining Him to be like His creatures, something He has strongly forbidden.
GOD RESEMBLES MAN
So now, who does God look like? When we read Gen. 1:26, God says; “Let us make man in our own image and in our likeness …..” An image has to do with the outward appearance for that reason, in appearance, God looks like man.
To confirm this, Christ says; “He (the son) reflects the Glory of God and bears the very stamp of his nature ……. Heb. 1:3”, And again, “He is the image of the invisible God …..
Col. 1:15”.
This Jesus, when He was on the earth, He resembled human beings – a man confirming that, God resembles man, He told Philip; “Do you see the way I look?” – John 14:9 – 10 If you have seen me, you have seen my father. All the prophets approve of this, for they have this to say; Ezekiel describing God on his throne wrote; “And above the firmament over their heads, there was the likeness as it were of a human form ……… Ezek. 1:26”. Daniel says; …….. Thrones were placed and one that was ancient of days took His seat; his garment was as white as snow, and the hair of his head was like pure wool …… Dan. 7:9 – 10”; see also Rev. 1:14 – 16.
This is prove enough that man was created resembling God, for God is seen to have hair, head, eyes, hands, clothing, etc. Why do such teaching seem strange to many and yet they are the ones that fill the pages of the Bible – the very word of God Himself?
Even though people pretend to read the bible and follow what is written there, the truth is, they put their imaginations into scriptures, instead of putting scriptures into their minds.
This is why you see so many teachings which cannot be found anywhere in the bible. From now understand this: “A scripture means what it says. If it is a proverb or a parable, there is another scripture which explains its meaning. At this point, it is very clear from God’s own mouth that He looks like man outwardly, yes in appearance.
I know, liars are out to contend and ask, “How when God is spirit while man is flesh and blood? For details on this, request for our booklet, “WHAT IS MAN”. GOD’S LIFE “No one has ever seen God at any time. God the son who is in the blossom of the father have revealed him – John 1:18.”
Why is it that Jesus is the only one who has seen God? Because, “No one has ever ascended to heaven except the son who has descended from there – John 3:13”. God did send Christ that he may come and reveal to us what is the true life, for his work was and up to now is, “To open the eyes of the blind, to free the prisoners, to bring to light those who live in darkness – Isa. 42:7.
When Christ was on earth, he taught that Godly life which we call God’s word. He said, “I have given them thy word – John. 17:14. “He added; ‘my teachings are not mine but His (God’s) who sent me – John. 7:16.” “Because I did not speak on my own, but the father who sent me, He has commanded me what to say, and I know His commandments are eternal life – John. 12:49 – 50.” In other words, Jesus came to reveal to us the very life, which God created us to live by. It is His own life, for He wanted us to be like Him.
When the Jews demanded to know the will of God, Jesus told them and He is telling us, “For this is the will of God, that everyone who looks to the son and believes in Him, may have eternal life,” “……………… The words that I speak to you are spirit and life. – John. 6:40, 63.”
What is God teaching us here?
The truth is; “the life which Christ lived and taught those who believed in him, which is also explained through the scriptures, is the very life of God. Read 2 Cor. 5:19 please.
GOD’S LAW – HIS LIFE
Let’s prove that God’s law is His very life. in the scriptures we read that God is spirit – John 4:24. The same scriptures say that His laws are spiritual – Rom. 7:14, John 6:63. God is holy – Leviticus 19:12. His laws are holy. Rom. 7:12. God is good – Mark 10:18. His laws are good. Rom. 7:12. God is love – 1John, 4:16. His laws are love – 2 John 1:16; Rom. 13:10
What do we say then? Except for the one whose coming is after Satan” …….. who peddles with God’s word – 2 Cor. 2:17” It is here made very clear for anyone who wants to live Godly that Gods commandments are an explanation of His life. The commandments are also an explanation of how we can live a joyous, peaceful, happy and fulfilling life, which culminates to eternal life. This is why Christ say’s “If you want to enter into life, keep the commandments” Mat. 19:17.
Deceitful people have risen, who being used by Satan mislead others. Introducing their own imaginative laws, which reject scriptures. Watch out brethren, for these are those Christ speaks about saying “You reject the commandments of God and obey the traditions of men” Mark 7:8 – 9. Christ brought forth the knowledge of God and His life which we have seen is what is written down as scriptures – see Prov. 3:1 – 2, 4:22, Matt. 19:18 – 19. So, the scriptures are God’s life explained in writing.
WHAT IS GOD?
Many people, being unable to deny themselves and learn from Christ, have continued with the lie of Eden that,” … you shall be like God” Gen. 3:4 – 5. They are following deceitful minds and so teaching misleading doctrines in the name of Jesus.
Christ himself sees and knows them, and is asking “Why do you call me Lord, Lord and do not do the things I command you? Luke 6:46. I have said this because many today of the professed Christians do not want to learn from the bible. They want to follow their minds and desires and false some scriptures to speak thus. I mean, they want to put their mind into scriptures instead of putting the scripture in their minds. This behavior is the very root of the confusion we are witnessing today in the Christian world.
We’ve heard some say that God is one. Others say He is three in one, and others are totally ignorant. So now, what does God himself through the bible say He is? Yes what is God? Let’s remove every form of drunkard-ness. Lets stop any kind of argument and allow him to tell us through the bible.
Now if we begin at the time when God had not even began to create, He says; “in the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God” John 1:1. If we want to accept the word of God and not what we want, or are used to, here we see two personalities being mentioned, who share the name God. Afterwards the word became flesh (John 1:14) and was named Jesus, who is, “God the son” see John. 1:18.
The other one is named, “God the father”. To prove that it is these two who are called God, when Jesus preached on this earth, He used to talk about Himself and the father, for he says; “the son can do nothing on his own except what he sees the father do …… John 5:19”. And again, “………… for the father is greater than I – John. 14:28.”
This is proof that the two are separate entities and not just two in one. For further proof; when Jesus was praying, he said; “and now father, glorify me with thyself with that glory which I had with you before the foundation of the world – John. 17:5.”
Do you get that? Before the foundation of the world, they were there, the two sharing the same glory, when Christ was known by the name, “The word’.
For details, request for our message, ‘who was Jesus?” If anyone has been imagining that God is trinity or anything else, I believe they are now able to see where the deception lies. This is because Christ would not have said the father is greater than him if they were just one person.
He would not have prayed to Him (Father) if they were one person. If this is the case, what did Christ mean when he said; “I and the father are one – John. 10:30?
GOD IS A FAMILY NAME
What most people devoid of the Holy Spirit have failed to understand is that God is a family name. This is why the word is called God and, He who was with him from the beginning is also God.
It is why we read in Gen. 1:26, God (one family) said; singular usage pointing to the one family; after this, the phrasing turns to a plural usage; saying, “let us (the one family of two separate personalities) ……….”
If you believe God to be that great creator, and giver of life, who also has knowledge over His creation, and if you believe the scriptures to be His written – down – speech, then He has said that His family consists of two personalities, not one or three in one. If we talk of one God referring to the family, that is o.k, but if we talk of entities, then we can’t say one.
This being the case, why does Christ say that he and the father are one? How are they one?
HOLY SPIRIT
When God talks about the beginning, when nothing had been created as yet, He doesn’t talk of any other existence except him and the word. So, when people say the Holy Spirit is a third God, thus talking about a trinity, where do they fetch such a teaching from and God has clearly said they are two?
Beware of false prophets whom Christ is warning about. Since we believe Christ and his teachings, what does he say concerning the Holy Spirit and His oneness with the father? “For as the father has life in Himself, so also has He given the son to have it – John. 55:26.”
Here, it is clear that the two have one thing in them selves, i.e., life. If we read v. 19 of the same chapter, we find that they also do the same things, showing they have the same mind. How can this be? For a clear understanding, lets try to know what this life is which the two have in themselves.
We saw that the commandments are his life. Yes, in this written commandments, God is explaining to us, his mind. He is explaining how He lives, for He says; “….. for it is life unto them that do them – Prov. 4:20, 22, and again, “it is a tree of life to those who keep it – Prov. 3:18”.
It is therefore very plain that this life they have in themselves is the one we call his commandments, for He says, “……….. And I know that His commandments are life – John. 12:50.”
This is the life they have in common, the Holy Spirit which is also the mind explained in the commandments. It is this oneness of lifestyle and mind, which made Christ to say; “if you see me, you have seen the father – John. 14:9. “What do we say then?
THE HOLY SPIRIT IS THE WORD AND LIFE OF GOD
Since these commandments are the very life which is in Christ and in God the father our Lord Jesus says, it’s the same which is called the Holy Spirit, saying,” ………… this word is the spirit of life – John. 6:63.”
So the Holy Spirit is not another God, but rather the life of God, which is also in Christ. For surely, when they mention it, they don’t say, “the God – spirit or, the spirit with God”, but rather, ‘the spirit of God and of Christ, for our Lord says, “……. and because you are sons, God has sent the spirit “of” (Mark this) His son into our hearts – Gal. 4:6.”
It is the same spirit, the life of God and Christ, which He gives to those who believe in him, for He says, “truly, truly I say un to you, he who believes has everlasting life – John. 6:47.” But now, how does life enter into the believer? Christ continues to explain; “if you love me you will keep my commandments. And I’ll pray to the father who will send you another helper, even the spirit of truth John. 14:15 – 17.”
Every time someone receive the Holy Spirit, our Lord tells us that he lives in that person and the person in him. This is how a person becomes one with God and Christ, for Jesus prays, “let all be one; just as you father art in me and I in you; let them be in us – John. 18:21.” Here, its very plain clear that the oneness of the father and the son does not mean a single person, but rather a people sharing the same exact kind of life. For this reason, Christ is admonishing us, saying, “Now brethrens, I beseech you that all of you speak the same thing ………….. but be of one mind, same advice – 1st Cor. 1:10.” “Striving to maintain the unity of the spirit, in the bond of peace. One body, one spirit …………. one hope, one calling. One Lord, one faith, one baptism ……….. Eph. 4:3 – 6.”
HOLY SPIRIT THE MIND AND POWER OF GOD
We have seen how God has a perfect mind, is mighty and exceedingly powerful. How does He work?
When a man (who is physical) picks something he uses his body strength. In this same manner, God’s power of action is the Holy Spirit. He has told us how he created the heavens and the earth and all that is in them.
What did he use to create? This is what he says; “mine hand placed the foundation of the earth, and my right hand spread the heavens – Isa. 48:13”. In the same way we use our strength through our hands to do work, so does God use his hands. This hand of his is non-else other than the Holy Spirit for he says; “thou sendest thy spirit, they are created – Ps. 104:30.” And again, “……….upholding the universe by His word of power …………. Heb. 1:3.”
From all this explanation, it is clear that the Holy Spirit is the power of God. It is also the mind and life of God and of Christ. Lets see more proof. Even though we who have believed are said to receive the Holy Spirit, our God says, He has given us his mind, for he writes; “but God has revealed it to us through His spirit. For the spirit searches even the inner thoughts of God. …………. We have received the spirit from God – 1Cor. 2:10 – 12”. So, the Holy Spirit is not another person but rather his mind and power – yes, His life.
TRINITY IS NOT GOD
From God’s own explanation through His word, we are now sure that God is one family with two personalities, but not three. It is also the very potential family of mankind – see Heb. 2:5 – 6, 10.”
The trinity doctrine is therefore not godly and has no place in the word of God – the scriptures. The verse which is misapplied to perpetrate this trinity says; “therefore, go into all the world and make disciples ……….. baptizing them in the name of the father, the son and the Holy Spirit – Mat. 28:19.”
What exactly does the verse mean? All over the bible we have seen the father being called God, the son also, but not a single verse in the whole bible mention the Holy Spirit as God. So, what does the verse mean?
Christ was sent by God the father into this earth. So he says; “my teachings are not mine but His who sent me – John. 7:16.” He continues to say; “he who believes me, believes not me, but the father who sent me – John. 12:44.”
So the message and the power of Christ was God’s. Christ also gives people who believes in him that same power, for he says; “…………….. Gives them the power to become children of God. – John. 1:12.”
To be baptized is to be immersed, put into something. So, our verse of concern means, “putting them into the Father, through the son, by their power of the Holy Spirit. To confirm this, when Christ ascended to heavens, the apostle continued to baptize according to that command, but using the name of Jesus alone. – See Acts. 2:38; 19:5.
In addition to that, we see Jesus continuing to live in us, by way of the Holy Spirit. This is the truth from the only true God. If anyone wants to continue with that lie of trinity, they are free to do so, but against the truth, since not all are given to understand now – Matt. 13:11.
What you have read in this message is that original true gospel which Christ preached and has sent his servants to continue preaching it. Will you believe? Are you ready to deny self and follow him? If yes, this is what He is telling you. “If any one serves me, let him follow me. For where I am, there shall my servant be also” John 12:26. Jesus is in his word. Will you follow him there? Keep his commandments.
